Once again on Boxing Day, the beautiful Essex village of Moreton welcomed everyone to its traditional and somewhat unconventional tug of war games. The two pubs, the White Hart and the Nag’s Head usually compete in the Games. Unfortunately the Nag’s Head was unable to participate as closing shortly before Christmas but we didn’t want to let the villages and visitors down at the last minute. A team of willing participants stepped in on behalf of the Nag’s Head.

In the fiftieth year tradition a fun race through the and a tug-of-war across the Cripsey Brook still took place. Competition was still fierce between the two teams – but success stayed with the White Hart Warriors for the 5th year running.

The Games started at 12 and the crowds was in their hundreds. A hog roast was be available at The White Hart as well as hot drinks to keep people warm. But with the boxing celebrations going on in to the evening we are sure a lot more beer & prosecco from the was drunk !!

It was truly a wonderful day for us and we thank everyone for attending. we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did and we really hope to keep 50-year tradition going next year!
